Check out a simple way to create a mini hot cocoa station for Valentine’s Day using a tiered tray and hot cocoa supplies.
Simple & Easy
Sometimes the best things in life are the things that are also the simplest. That’s exactly how I feel about this Valentine’s Day mini hot cocoa station! This was a quick Sunday afternoon project that was super easy to put together, so pretty, and also very functional for my hot cocoa loving boys.
Now, I typically don’t make a big fuss over Valentine’s Day decor, so this was the perfect amount of decor to get our home in the Valentine’s Day spirit without going overboard.
Tiered Tray
I’ve been on the hunt for a tiered tray to put in our kitchen. While strolling through Hobby Lobby last weekend, this pretty little tray was 50% off. I loved the dainty scrolling and patina on the metal. It was a total bonus that the handle was in the shape of a heart. Sold! This darling little lady was coming home with me and I couldn’t wait to style her up for Valentine’s Day!
Hot Cocoa Supplies
The boys love hot cocoa, especially my Nate. I figured that I could set up a simple hot cocoa station where everything is right within reach. Bonus points that it’s pretty and I don’t mind having it set out on the counter. 🙂
I started on the bottom tray. The glass jar contains the hot cocoa mix. The white dishes are things that I’ve collected over the years. I found the pink mug at the Target Dollar Spot. The wooden spoons were also from the Dollar Spot, but maybe from a few years ago. I found these in my craft closet and thought they’d work perfectly for a Valentine’s Day mini hot cocoa station.
The pink napkins have a scalloped edge and a gold foil heart in the middle. I’m a little sad that you can’t see all of the details because they really are so sweet.
What’s a hot cocoa bar without the marshmallows?! The more the better according to my crazy boys!
Add Greenery for Fullness and Fluff
The faux greenery was something that I already had around the house. I wanted something to stuff in between the hot cocoa stuff to fill in the space and make it look all full and layered. I believe these are baby lambs ear stems that I picked up from Michael’s.
The top tier is also super simple but functional. There are more pink napkins and some pretty pink drinking straws for sippin’ and stirrin’. The pitcher is more for looks, but I do like to use it every now and again for pouring hot water and tea. I love that pitcher. It was a fun find from a thrift store on the Delaware shore. ❤️
A Candle for Light and Warmth
Candles are sorta my love language. I always have one burning in the house somewhere. This little one fit perfectly in this space and adds a bit of warmth to the tray. I shoved some more of the faux lambs ear up here in the top section, too. I love the color scheme of this little vignette; soft pastels, greenery, and wood tones.
Here’s another shot of the bottom portion of the tray. Don’t you just want to pop one of those fluffy marshmallows in your mouth?
